About the role
The Owners Representative (OR) acts on behalf of the end user to protect the Owner’s technical,
operational, commercial, and risk interests during the construction and commissioning phases of a data
centre project. They will work with all key project stakeholders to ensure that critical milestones are
achieved and that budget is protected. They will maintain concise, accurate records of construction
progress and report to senior leadership on key data, metrics and risk/opportunities to schedule and
budget.
Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong understanding of data centre construction and MEP systems
• Demonstrable experience and understanding of DC Commissioning
• Ability to identify and mitigate construction risks to schedule and budget
• Ability to read, track and report against construction and commissioning schedules
• Familiarity with live-environment and mission-critical construction protocols
• Confident in challenging contractors and consultants
• Clear, concise structured reporting to senior stakeholders
• Liaise with all key internal and external project stakeholders
Construction Phase Oversight
• Act as the primary on-site representative of the end user
• Ensure that developers and contractors are maintaining corporate standards with regards to
Safety, Security and Quality
• Monitor construction progress against schedule
• Pro-actively monitor and manage any critical design and procurement activities
• Participate in pertinent project meetings
• Maintain Risk Registers to identify and mitigate project risks
• Manage design clarifications and site queries
• Ensure all design changes are formally reviewed, approved, and controlled
• Raise, track, and ensure closeout of non-conformance reports (NCRs)
• Challenge and escalate where required, issues that could impact schedule, cost, or operational
intent
Qualifications & Experience
• 5+ years experience in:
o Data centres
o Mission-critical or high-availability facilities
• Strong on-site construction management background
Fluency in English is required.
