Job Purpose: 

You will lead the financial stewardship of our projects—planning, controlling, forecasting, and reporting costs to ensure projects are delivered on budget, to quality, and on time. Working across all project phases, you’ll be a trusted advisor to internal teams, clients, and contractors.

What you will be doing:

Project Cost Management (Pre‑ & Post‑Contract)

  • Develop and update cost plans through design milestones; drive value-engineering and commercial input into design options
  • Evaluate bids, support negotiations with contractors/subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
  • Perform cost control, quantity surveying, change management, claims and valuations across the project lifecycle
  • Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, cash flow analyses, earned value reviews, and final accounts benchmarking

Cost Control & Reporting

  • Implement and maintain cost control systems: track budgets, commitments, actual spend, and forecast
  • Prepare and validate contractor invoices prior to client finance system submission
  • Build and maintain comprehensive cost reports and dashboards; reconcile data to support audit trails
  • Support change management and evaluate financial impact of scope variations

📆 Scheduling & Forecasting

  • Assist in schedule validation and integration with cost forecasts
  • Provide financial risk analysis, scenario planning, and value engineering to inform decision-making
  • Extract and manipulate large datasets, developing automated tools and Excel models for rapid and accurate insights

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Guide project teams on cost strategies, communicate variances, and escalate risks/opportunities
  • Liaise daily with project managers, procurement, Finance/Accounting, PMO, contractors, and clients
  • Train project personnel on cost processes and tools to ensure consistent application

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

  • Embed best practices in cost management; stay current with industry trends, regulation, and benchmarking
  • Ensure all processes comply with governance frameworks, producing clean audit trails and accurate final accounts. 
What you will bring:

Education: 
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.

Experience: 7+ years in cost control or quantity surveying within construction, infrastructure, or real estate—pre and post-contract phases.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP, advanced Excel, earned value management, cost reporting, forecasting.
 
Certifications: RICS/CICES, PMP, AACE, CPA/CMA preferred.

Knowledge Base: Understanding of contract forms (e.g., NEC, ECC), cost breakdown schedules, procurement, value engineering. 

Soft Skills: Excellent communicator, strong stakeholder management, analytical thinker with attention to detail.
