Job Description

Job Purpose:
The purpose of the role is to support with SHE activities on-site at client offices.

Key Tasks include but not limited to:
1. Implement the QSHE Management systems at the designated site.
2. Ensure SHE related compliance with current legislation and Group SHE requirements, relating to relevant occupational safety policies, procedures, standards and training and update SHE procedures as necessary.
3. Carrying out risk assessments, regular auditing (incl. PTW, COSHH, Aldehydes, Clients) and taking corrective actions to ensure conformance to SHE requirements.
4. Work closely with the site Managers and personnel to agree realistic safety objectives and produce regular reports on safety performance
5. Support the development and implementation of SHE KPI’s and monitoring programs for the site to ensure safety compliance
6. Provide practical advice on safety issues, feeding back when required standards are not being met and making recommendations for corrective action as appropriate
7. Preparation, delivery and co-ordination of Training for Safety, Emergency Response, First Aid and Occupational Health
8. Interface with Group SHE regularly to ensure application of standards and for roll out of initiatives within the Dubai site
9. Lead SHE activities and implementation of projects on site
10. Ensure development of Site Safety Representatives is in place to promote site safety initiatives and standards
11. Staying abreast of both internal and external developments about UAE laws and regulations and all other relevant compliance matters
12. Maintain good relationships with external SHE and Occupational Health regulators
13. Keeping up-to-date records and files of all relevant compliance issues and maintaining valid certifications.
14. Contributing to the improvement of the overall performance of the site by proactively participating in Site SHE meetings and initiatives
15. Participate in regional / global SHE networks.

Skills & Knowledge:
• The successful candidate will hold a degree in a relevant field and have several years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, including areas such as COSHH, Manual Handling, and Occupational Hygiene.
• A thorough knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) auditing and legislation is required. NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent professional qualifications are desirable.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is essential.
• Candidates should have proven track record of competence in their respective discipline with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Other essential behaviours are self-motivation, team player, good communication and auditing skills
• Strong knowledge of UAE safety legislation, Dubai Municipality Technical Guidelines, DCD Fire & Life Safety Code, and relevant standards.
• Holds certificates of Specialist training, OSHA, IOSH NEBOSH IGC.
